'Government has no right to impeach justices'
Janakpurdham, June 23: Former Prime Minister and CPN (UML) leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has said there is no higher body than the Constituent Assembly and it was necessary to convince the other political parties that have reservations on the 16-point agreement signed by major political parties.
Speaking in a press conference organized by the Press Chautari Nepal, Dhanusha, today, leader Nepal said the Supreme Court's stay order regarding the 16-point agreement has not respected the Constituent Assembly (CA)’s prestige, position and regulations.
He said the national politics has taken positive turn breaking the uncertainty and it was time to move ahead in a new way.
The UML leader said the political parties should be serious so that the federalism is not shadowed by minor issues and work vigorously to promulgate the new constitution.
Leader Nepal said constitution writing and election of the local bodies was a must to give the message of political stability in the country and for the success of the CA.
