Gorkhapatra to publish Biratnagar-edition from Sept 20
By Shashidhar Parajuli, Biratnagar, July 16: Provincial office building of the Gorkhapatra Corporation has been handed over to the corporation amidst a programme here today.
The building was built by Federal Projects Implementing Unit under the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction.
Addressing the building handover ceremony, executive chairman of the Gorkhapatra Corporation, Krishna Murari Bhandari, announced that the corporation would commence publishing Biratnagar-edition of its dailies starting from Sept 20, 2019.
“This building handover ceremony marks the point that we have spread our wings, and we will start flying like a bird when we prepare for Kohalpur-edition of the dailies immediately after the commencement of the Biratnagar-edition,” executive chairman Bhandari said noting that the Gorkhapatra daily has entered 119th year of its publication.
He stressed that the newspaper should reach its audience in time as good reading materials being included in the paper lose the meaning if the paper does not reach the audience in time. “Now, the readers of Province 1 and 2 will enjoy the Gorkhapatra with the first sip of their morning tea.”
Bhim Parajuli, Mayor of Biratnagar Metropolitan City, said he was elated with the preparation of the Gorkhapatra for provincial edition and gave words for all necessary support in this regard.
Chief District Officer of Morang district, Ramesh KC, lauded the Gorkhapatra’s role in preserving culture, languages and arts of different ethnic communities. Gorkhapatra daily publishes contents in 38 different languages spoken in Nepal.
