Budget session of federal parliament from today

Kathmandu, Apr. 29: The fourth session of the federal parliament will begin from Monday.
During this session, lawmakers will extensively discuss the federal budget and government’s policies and programmes for the next fiscal year.
The federal budget for the year of 2019/20 and government’s policies and programmes are scheduled to be presented by the end of May.
The Federal Parliament Secretariat had received the message from President Bidya Devi Bhandari to start the 4th session and had published a notice summoning the session of both the Houses for Monday afternoon.
Under secretary Narayan Prasad Dhakal at the federal parliament said that during the fourth session both the Houses of federal parliament will have to endorse 32 bills, which were not endorsed in the third session and the two new bills registered earlier.
“Altogether 34 bills, including the bill on Human Rights and of Industrial Enterprise Act will be tabled during this session,” Dhakal said.
Both the Houses have been scheduled to pass condolence message on the sad demises of former Nepali Congress lawmakers Ram Krishna Tamrakar, Diwakar Golchha and Rudra Mani Sharma Bhandari on Monday afternoon.
The federal parliament had endorsed 22 bills during its second session and 14 bills in its third session. However, no bill was endorsed in the first session.
With all the endorsements, the parliament had amended 127 bills altogether in a year.
The most-awaited bills on foreign direct investment, public private partnership, and special economic zone were passed during the third session of the parliament.
