Two killed, 11 injured in Tanahun jeep accident
Tanahun, March 5: Two persons were killed and 11 others injured when a jeep slid off the road and fell around 30 meters at Ghansikuwa of Byas municipality-12 along the Prithivi Highway today.
Burst of the vehicle front tyre causing imbalance is blamed for the accident. The dead have been identified as the jeep driver Nara Bahadur Gharti of Byas municipality-14 and Buddhi Bahadur Thapa, 65, of Bandipur rural municipality-3.
Thapa breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Damauli hospital, while Gharti at Pokhara-based Medical College, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Shayamu Aryal, adding that the injured are receiving treatment at Narahari and Damauli hospitals. The ill-fated jeep (Ga 1 Ja 2907) was heading to Damauli from Bandipur rural municipality.
